Letter from Anso Heemro, Stilbaai
The Civil Service Pension Redress Movement, also known as the CSPRM, was established to retrieve the remaining pension benefits of all civil servants not paid by the former South African Apartheid Government.
Retired civil servants include retired former teachers, nurses, caretakers, policemen, army and navy personnel, amongst others, who did not receive all of their retirement benefits as a result of discrepancies by the former South African Apartheid Government.
Numerous former civil servants attended meetings held by officials of the CSPRM in Riversdale some time ago, but since then we in the Hessequa Region (Heidelberg, Riversdale and Albertinia), are left in the dark ... No meetings are being held. We stand a chance of being deprived for a second time.
Meanwhile, meetings and conferences were recently held in other areas, where branches of the CSPRM were established. Those areas include Mossel Bay, Swellendam, Worcester and Cape Town.
I am greatly concerned by this situation, because civil servants who failed to pay their registration fee of R50 and their annual fee of R240 by the end of this year (2023), will not receive a membership card, resulting in their membership being terminated and them forfeiting their membership and benefits.
I therefore suggest that Rev Johan Fielies establish a branch at Riversdale. A meeting will be held on 11 November, at Gerrit Du Plessis Secondary School, starting at 10:00.
Kindly supply all schools and churches with the information. All queries will be dealt with at the meeting as an official of the CSPRM will be present.
