Update
HESSEQUA NEWS - On 24 November at 19:50, the wildfire is under control. Windy conditions made firefighting efforts extremely difficult, particularly during the late afternoon.
The north-westerly fireline in the direction of Riversdale caused flare-ups which required aerial firefighting.
Ground crews are currently mopping up this area and the GRDM night shift, including Hessequa Municipal Working-on-Fire ground crews will assist with mopping up throughout the evening until tomorrow morning.
The wind is moderate at this stage and teams are hopeful that it calms down considerably in efforts to contain the fire.
