HESSEQUA NEWS - On 23 November, the wildfire spread beyond the control of ground crews. It is currently burning in a north-westerly direction, north of the Riethuiskraal gravel road.
A southern line is burning from the southeast to a southwest direction in Spuithoek.
Plans are to perform offensive firefighting into the evening and early morning hours. The wind forecast for tonight includes a northerly wind, that will place structures to the southwest at risk.
No infrastructure has been damaged to date. Crews are busy extinguishing accessible lines and protecting structures.
All role players include GRDM Fire Services, Hessequa and the SCFPA Working-on-Fire crew.
