CRICKET NEWS - The Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers, runners-up in last season’s CSA Division 2 Four-Day competition, start their campaign this weekend at Willowmoore Park in Benoni, where they take on the Eastern Storm.
The Badgers need a solid start with an outright victory. They are still without their captain, Jean du Plessis, who is recovering from an injury, but this allows other players to make a step-up.
The Garden Route Badgers' starting eleven is: Onke Nyaku (captain), Blayde Capell, Matthew Christensen, Jhedli van Briesies, André Malan, Hanno Kotze, Sean Whitehead, Pheko Moletsane, Marcello Piedt, Jarred Jardine and Basheer Walters.
Sintu Majiza and Keenan Vieira will form part of the travelling squad.
