SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - A team management consisting of Amanda Stripp and Rosa-Linda Kock accompanied eight athletes to represent SWD at the annual SA Road Race Walking Championships that was held in Ysterplaat, Cape Town.

This has been a successful championships for the local athletes who managed to return with two medals and two new records.

David Morgan-Smith (75–79 yrs) 10km 1:08.36 Gold Medal and new SA Masters Record; Frankie Whiteford (65–69 yrs) 10km 1:12.00 – 6th; Mariaan Barnard (18–19 yrs) 10km 1:03.47 – 4th; Elwich Van Wyk (14–15 yrs) 5km 25.46 – Silver Medal and new SWD Record; Dullan Solomons (14–15 yrs) 5km 28.26 – 4th; Jerome Ferland (14–15 yrs) 5km 29.12 – 6th; Bradley Witbooi (14–15 yrs) 5km 30.52 – 8th; Darryl Solomons (14–15 yrs) 5km did not finish.
