RIVERSDALE NEWS - Residents may disagree due to the increasing inconvenience they are experiencing during the infrastructure improvements to the business district. But the Hessequa Municipality insists the upgrades are proceeding according to the scheduled plan.
Says Didi Budricks, Head: Public Relations: “The project is proceeding as per the tracking project plan, based on project updates including upcoming projects. The project is being fast tracked to ensure that more time is gained on the other outstanding works.”
Several similar upgrades are being made simultaneously in other towns in the region. The main aim of the projects is to install underground electrical cables and replace existing overhead networks.
The upgrades will strengthen the current electrical network, reduce electrical losses and reduce outages. This will also contribute to the sustainable supply of electricity to all.
On a brighter light, the project managers foresee that the majority of the excavations should be completed by 30 March 2024.
