STILBAAI NEWS - Stilbaai is home to one of six marine protected areas in the Western Cape.
The existence of these areas was highlighted during National Marine Week, which was celebrated during the second week of October.
“These areas help protect marine and coastal habitat,” said Loren Pavitt, Acting General Manager: Advocacy of CapeNature.
“They also allow vulnerable and threatened marine species to regenerate and recover.”
In addition, they offer income generation opportunities through sustainable fishing and tourism.
