GARDEN ROUTE DISTRICT NEWS - Auditions for the SA Championships of Performing Arts (SACOPA) were held for the Southern Cape region on 15 May.

The auditions were held in George. Dancing, acting, modelling and vocals were judged in the auditions. 

The following from Mossel Bay, Still Bay and Riversdale were chosen to go to the SACOPA finals taking place in Rustenburg from 1 to 10 October.

Mossel Bay
Queen Bees (duet acting, Afrikaans); Zoë Fortuin (solo acting); Frans Magal (solo acting); Vinolia Snoek (solo modelling); Shaneshree Jacobs (solo modelling); Sesona Foli (solo modelling and acting); Romeo Wagner (solo dance).

Still Bay
Wanva Grobler (solo acro-dance); Sasha-Mari Grobler (solo acro-dance and vocal); Sasha and Divan Duet (vocal duet).

Riversdale
Anita Peens (solo modelling); Erika Wentzel (solo modelling).

The regional finalists are in need of sponsorship. Registration fees are expensive and also, financial assitance for transport to and accommodation in Rustenburg is needed.
