Sandra Lotz, voorsitter en stigter van Community Animal Rescue Society (CARS) het ingegryp. Dit is mikroskopiese klein ‘goggas’ wat binne in die vel van die dier inkruip. Dié ‘gogga’ lê eiers en vermeerder vir solank dit nie behandel word nie. Die besmette dier jeuk onophoudelik wat ’n gekrap en byt afgee. Diere verloor hare en die vel word korsagtig.
