The South African, who lost in the doubles final the last two years in a row at Melbourne Park, and Wagner romped to a 6-1 6-3 victory over Britain’s Andrew Lapthorne and Australian Dylan Walcott.
Sithole also clawed his way back from a set down to beat Lapthorne 2-6 6-1 6-0 in his second contest of the quad singles division.
After falling to Wagner in his opening match of the round robin stage the day before, he climbed to second place in the standings, keeping his hopes alive of adding the singles crown to his doubles title.
