Lambie underwent surgery on Monday, but is not the only player who is set to miss out on Super Rugby action because of injury.
Francois Kleinhans (torn bicep muscle), Giant Mtyanda (broken nose), Jacques Potgieter (ankle), Ruan Botha (hip) are the long term casualties the Sharks have in their camp.
On a positive note stalwarts Jean Deysel, Stephan Lewies and Tera Mtembu will resume training this week.
The Cell C Sharks are in the final stages of their preparation for their match against the Southern Kings which will take place on February 27 in Port Elizabeth.
