The training squad of 41 players spent three days together in Stellenbosch to continue with its preparations for the forthcoming international season. South Africa will play three Test in June during the Castle Lager Incoming Series against France.
The group concentrated their efforts mainly on defence, exits and scrums, with Coetzee describing the camp as another successful training gathering. During the first camp in Johannesburg the training emphasis was mainly on attack.
The Bok coach also mentioned that he was pleased with the conditioning of players and attributed it in part to the continued collaboration between the local franchises and the Springbok coaching and conditioning staff.
Coetzee reiterated that the door is still open to players who weren’t selected so far for the first two camps. He also mentioned that some of the new faces invited to Stellenbosch impressed him during the various training and technical session at the three-day.
