HEIDELBERG NEWS - Why would anyone want to play bowls?
"Come and join us at Heidelberg Bowling club and we will give you 13 reasons why," says their enthusiastic spokesperson, John Evert.
"One of the reasons is that bowls is a sport which welcomes everyone irrespective of age, gender or colour. Anyone between 8 and 80 years of age can play bowls," says John.
They play competitive bowls where prizes are up for grabs, and for those people who just want to enjoy themselves, there is ample opportunity to play socially and for the fun.
'Our annual membership fees are very low compared with other sports. We are extending an invitation to anyone who is interested. Beginners will receive free coaching and if you have played bowls then you are welcome to join us."
Interested people can join the club activities on Wednesday or Saturday afternoons at 14:45.
