Several of the sport's top players, including world number one Jason Day, Rory McIlroy and Hideki Matsuyama have withdrawn from selection because of concerns over the Zika virus.
McIlroy also said last week the Games were not the "pinnacle" for golfers.
"At the moment everything seems to be good and on course to be going," Englishman Willett told BBC Sport.
"It's a tough one to really say. You can't really comment too much because people have their own reasons for things.
"Me and Nic [wife Nicole] obviously have our own reasons for things and we'd love another little one. But, you know, for the sake of one week out of every four years I feel it's a risk I'm potentially willing to take at this moment in time."
