GEORGE NEWS & VIDEOS - South Africa's toughest firefighter, senior Garden Route District Municipality (GRDM) firefighting champ Emile Conrad, jetted off to Portugal on Wednesday 27 April to take part in the 2022 International Toughest Firefighter Alive (TFA) Championship.
This demanding event is part of the World Firefighters Games, held in Lisbon this year from 30 April to 7 May.
This year Conrad, who has won the men's individual category of the SA TFA competition five consecutive years up until 2019, was the only male from George competing in the TFA event, which took place on Tuesday 3 May.
The winner will be announced on Saturday 7 May.
