Jailed over chocolate bars

NATIONAL NEWS - The only bars Xolani Ntuli will see for the next two years will not be made of chocolate.

He was arrested in April last year on theft charges for shoplifting two chocolate bars, worth R49, from a Richards Bay grocery store and was subsequently released on bail.

However, the 26-year-old Mzingazi man absconded from his court hearings and was rearrested in March this year.

The Empangeni Magistrates Court on Monday handed down his two-year sentence in light of his four previous convictions, all of which were also theft charges.
