NATIONAL NEWS - Three pupils have died and 11 others have been injured in a fire at the North West Secondary School for the Deaf.

It understood the blaze broke out in the girls’ hostel early on Monday morning.

The local fire department said the school’s administration block and computer laboratory were damaged, along with two teachers’ flats.

It’s not yet known what sparked the blaze.

The fire service’s Isaac Maine said, “At the res where they are sleeping, the fire started that side. The whole building, the hostel, the offices, the ceiling and the roofing has collapsed.”
