NATIONAL NEWS - The countrywide student protest against study fee increases has spread to NMMU George.

About 80 students held a peaceful protest from 10:00 to 13:00 today when they handed a memorandum to Campus Principle Quinton Johnson, stating their opposition against the 9% fee increase planned at the university for the next study year.

One of the protesters, Christopher Godla, said that NMMU was willing to lower the increase to 6%, but that this was unacceptable, and that the students demand no increase for 2016.
