The Viking Fishing Company has confirmed the life jackets of two of the three missing fishermen have been found, and they’re now presumed dead.
The MFV Lincoln was apparently swamped by heavy seas, approximately 48 kilometres south of Hermanus, when the 21 man crew quickly abandoned ship.
The company’s Rory Williams says they have retrieved nine bodies of the 12 that went missing at sea.
Williams says family members of the crew members who lost their lives at sea have been informed and have spent the morning receiving counseling.
