GEORGE NEWS FLASH - Two men will appear in the George Magistrate’s Court this morning for dealing in drugs after they were caught with Mandrax worth R2,4 million in their possession on Saturday near Kaaimans Pass.
The suspects, aged 32 and 35 years old, were stopped around 09:00 after police spotted a suspicious looking Nissan Qashqai. “With the search that ensued, they found 48 bags containing 1 000 Mandrax tablets each, concealed in different panels of the vehicle. They immediately confiscated the illegal drugs and arrested the two men, who are from Sandton and Gugulethu respectively. It is believed that the illegal drugs were meant for distribution in the Western Cape.”
Both suspects are detained at the George Police holding cells.
Provincial management has put a stern warning to potential drug peddlers to refrain from transporting these drugs as they will be caught and brought to justice, as these arrests are testimony of.
Eden Cluster Commander Major-General Oswald Reddy, who visited the members while they were processing the bust, commended the members involved for their dedication and commitment to bring these suspects to book.
