HESSEQUA NEWS - Hessequa was named the top destination in the country during the South African Tourism Awards in June 2022.
The South African Tourism Awards is a private sector project aimed at promoting tourism where the travelling community can vote for their favourite nomination.
Hessequa Tourism, The Explorer's Garden Route, was nominated by the South African Tourism Awards 2022 under the category Destinations, as the region offers visitors unique and off-the-beaten-track experiences like the Big 5 Game Drives, Forest Glamping, Fynbos Gin, award-winning olive and oils, award-winning cheese and wine, Aloes products, excellent municipal camping facilities, mountain passes and 6 Blue Flag Status beaches.
Andrew Stroebel, the Speaker of the Hessequa Municipality, said they would like to thank each and every person who voted for them, especially Hessequa Tourism's Senior Tourism and Development Officer, Riaan Malan, who actively promotes our region as the ideal holiday destination for leisure and business travel.
