Update

HESSEQUA NEWS AND VIDEO - Inconsistent and variable winds have caused flare-ups once again. The wildfire has moved both east and west, requiring aerial assistance near structures. All structures in the vicinity remain safe.

Currently, counter burns are being implemented on the west flank to contain the flare-ups. Mopping-up operations will continue throughout the night.

The firefighting efforts are a collaborative endeavor involving GRDM Fire & Rescue Services, Hessequa Municipality Fire & Rescue Services, Working on Fire, local farmers, the SCFPA, and GRDM Fire Volunteers in Hessequa.
