HESSEQUA NEWS - The Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment Working on Fire Programme in the Western Cape has deployed two teams, Slangrivier and Heidelberg to assist the Hessequa Municipality with fighting a fire in Albertinia.
On Sunday, 12 June the Riverdale team, as well as the Southern Cape Fire Protection Association (SCFPA), MTO and Hessequa Municipality assisted the Garden Route Municipality with fighting and successfully containing Gracia’s Pass Fire between Riversdale and Ladismith.
On the further side, a Huey chopper and a spotter plane were dispatched on Sunday to a fire in Covey where they also assisted the Garden Route Municipality.
