RIVERSDALE NEWS - Abrie van As of Hoër Landbouskool Oakdale in Riversdale was one of three learners from the Southern Cape and Hessequa who has been selected to participate in the International Science Fair (ISF) in Johannesburg.
Nationwide only 200 learners were invited to this prestigious event.
The ISF will take place from 7 to 9 December at the Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre.
Grade 9 learner Abrie van As, Grade 11 learner Jaco Jacobs of Outeniqua High School and Grade 9 learner Abigail Marais of Point High School in Mossel Bay impressed judges with the projects they submitted for the regional competition, the Eden Karoo Eskom Expo, earlier this year.
Since then two sessions have been held to guide learners in improving their projects to comply with the high standard set for the ISF event.
"We wish them good luck and look forward to them making our region proud!" said regional administrative assistant Sonet Strydom.
