The cupboard in my office is almost stocked to the brim and I could not resist to take a picture to share it with our readers. We received all kinds of stuff: Toiletries, knee blankets, socks, towels, face cloths, scarves, beanies, cookies, sweets and even fruit juice. We also received a very generous cash donation of an anonymous person from Jongensfontein.
For those who do not know what it's all about, we intend to spoil our senior citizens in old age homes and/or nursing homes in the region with gifts on special days, with Christmas first on our list.
Since our offices will close on 18 December for the festive season and a well-deserved rest, the handover of these gifts will already be on Thursday, 27 and Friday, 28 November. With your help residents of the following old age homes and nursing homes will be spoiled: Old Meule and Jan Lange (Riversdale); Huis Zenobia du Toit (Heidelberg); Albertinia Versorgingsoord, Huis Lekkerbly and Huis Alrema (Stilbaai), as well as Soeterus Versorgingsoord (Melkhoutfontein).
Our next handover will be early in next year and anyone interested to contribute, even if it is only one small item, please do so. All donors will be thanked accordingly.
