Garden Route Promotions Coordinator, Tryana Potgieter says, “We are bringing an exciting taste of African jazz to music lovers in the Southern Cape with a three day Jazz Festival.”
“The festival will feature jazz legend, Dawnay; R&B / pop outfit, The Rockets; and then - finally - a battle of the jazz bands,” she adds.
Following their own performance on Saturday (11 April) chart-topping performers, The Rockets will return to Garden Route for a not-to-be-missed jazz talent show-down on Sunday, 12 April.
In search of a unique jazz style and sound, The Rockets will decide which local jazz band comes out on top and walks away with the prestigious ‘Garden Route Jazz Band of 2015’ title.
Potgieter says, “We can’t wait to soak up three days of sultry soul and smooth sounds with our guests.”
Entry to The Battle of the Bands is free of charge but booking is essential as space is limited and large numbers are anticipated. Not to be missed shows are; 10 April Dawnay is R80 pp with dinner R160, The Rockets 11 April R80 per person with dinner R160.
