ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - South Africans are getting ready to celebrate Heritage Day on the 24th of September and, because the public holiday falls on a Sunday this year, we all get the Monday off.
Those in and around the Garden Route are in for a lekker long weekend, with three days packed full of entertainment on the cards at Garden Route Casino’s Bravo Lounge.
Come kick off the celebrations with some karaoke and old-school hits supplied by DJ Fox on Friday, the 22nd of September, from 19:00.
The next day, stop by to enjoy the smooth jazz sounds of the Ocean Breeze band from 18:00.
The high point of the long weekend will undoubtedly be the performance by Garth Taylor on Sunday, the 24th of September, from 20:00.
With almost 20 years’ experience in entertaining audiences, it’s not surprising that Taylor has topped the charts multiple times with songs like Why, If I Gave You My Soul, Tonight and Home Again.
Over the course of his career, this world-class performer has shared the stage with international stars like Simply Red, Shaggy, Jonathan Butler, Phil Fearon, Judy Boucher and Brian McNight. Plus, he was handpicked by Sir Richard Branson to perform at his son’s wedding in 2013.
Garden Route Casino Marketing Manager, Karen Johnstone, says: “Garth has previously performed for us and it was such a great show - with people dancing all night long - that we simply had to host him again.”
Entry to the events on the 22nd and 23rd are free, however tickets to see Taylor’s artistry in action cost R100 per person, with discounts available to Garden Route Casino Rewards cardholders. Tickets can be purchased from Garden Route Casino’s cash desk and website as well as from Computicket.
The next event to diarise is the performance by Andre Schwartz on the 30th of September. For more information on this and other upcoming events, please visit: www.tsogosun.com/garden-route-casino.
