STILBAAI NEWS - After an in depth and thorough process, after much consultation with all the roll players, a joint decision has been taken by the Hessequa Municipality and Stilbaai Touchies Organisers to cancel Stilbaai Touchies for 2020.

According to the organisers, it is a really sad day and will be the first Touchies cancelled since the hailstorm in 2003.

Given the serious nature of the Covid-19 pandemic, it was felt that the risk of potential spread of the virus was far too great and it would have been an irresponsible decision to go forward with the event even with the strictest safety measures being in place.

Everyone is acutely aware of the impact that the event has on the town and the region in general. The decision was left until the very latest time to give it a fair chance of going ahead. Planning will soon start for the 2021 event and it is hoped that things will return to normal for an extra special event next year.
