FOOTBALL NEWS - The Thembalethu side Vista FC have become the new Geolfa champions. They championed over Western Tigers 4-1 on Sunday afternoon, 17 July at the Lawaaikamp Stadium in their last Geolfa League game.
The hard-working team have been fighting for the Geolfa title for many seasons. In the 2020/2021 season they were the runners-up, breathing down the neck of Raul Stars.
They came into the current season with more experience and ran a determined campaign that saw them end at the top of the Geolfa League table with 69 points.
Throughout their 30 games they showed a strong fighting spirit and achieved 21 victories and six draws, losing in only three meetings.
They also boast the best defending record, having conceded only 17 goals over the entire season.
Vista will now represent George in the Regional LFA championships later this year.
