STILBAAI NEWS - This event forms part of a wider Anti-Snare Awareness Campaign, created to highlight the alarming reality of snaring in the Western Cape.
Snaring is a common poaching tool that many people don't pay much attention to, but these simple devices are probably amongst the highest killers of our wildlife in the Western Cape.
Snares are indiscriminate and kill or injure anything that dares to cross its path, including non-targeted species.
Bring sunblock, a hat, water, sturdy shoes, your phone, wire cutters or pliers, gloves and a pen. Wear long pants and join the anti-snare walk and talk at the Stilbaai Tourism Bureau on Saturday 6 December from 08:30 to 11:30.
Cost: R50 per person - (all money raised will go into a fund for veterinary services).
Children under 12 walk free.
RSVP by Friday, 5 December, via WhatsApp 079 643 9556 or email snarewalk@wcin.org.za.
