EDITORIAL - To prepare students for the work environment, South Cape College in Riversdale placed 11 students at the municipality and hospital respectively.
The coordinator, Enrico Gerber from the Hessequa campus worked with Marcel Cronjé from Hessequa municipality, as well as Johnny Oosthuizen and Herman Crous from the hospital to place the students.
The students worked for five days.
"It was mainly job shadowing and an introduction into the world of work as many of the students never worked before," said Gerber. "South Cape College appreciates the opportunity granted to the students to gain valuable work experience.
At the end of the five days, the persons in charge spoke highly of the students' good attitude and willingness to learn."
