HESSEQUA NEWS & VIDEO - The South African Club Tug of War Championships started in Hartenbos this morning, Saturday 24 October.
Local organiser of the championships Barries Barnard of George noted that there were far fewer teams competing than usual because of the effect of the Covid-19 lockdown.
The championships are taking place at the ATKV Amphitheatre.

The programme today is as follows:
• 08:45 - Opening
• 09:00 - Cruiserweight (680kg) Men
• 09:30 - Lightweight (500kg) Ladies
• 10:30 - Lightweight (560kg) Men
• 12:00 - Lunch
• 12:30 - Heavyweight (720kg) Men
• 13:00 - Queen's weight (540kg) Ladies
• 14:00 - King's weight (640kg) Men
• 15:30 - Mix weight (580kg) M & L
* A medal ceremony takes place after each weight division.
