HESSEQUA NEWS - The Malgas pont is still closed, but hopefully not for long.
According to Jandré Bakker, head of communication at the Department of Transport and Public Works, the cable has been lowered as per South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) instruction.
"We are in the process of appointing the supervising operator. As soon as this appointment process is complete, we would have adhered to all instructions and SAMSA will then do its final inspections and issue the licence if all is in order. We are confident this will happen soon."
