RIVERSDALE NEWS - Max Baise (86), a former Springbok referee from Riversdale, has been invited to attend the 50th reunion of the Springboks and British Irish Lions (BIL) touring party from 1968.
It will take place at Southern Sun The Cullinan in Cape Town from Sunday 17 June to Sunday 24 June.
Max Baise together with Tori Gardner will represent the Chris Burger Petro Jackson Fund during the reunion. Baise refereed two test matches and one provincial game between BIL and the Springboks.
"No other referee in South Africa has refereed more tests between the Springboks and BIL than I have. There were two in 1968 and two in 1974."
He also said that he is honoured and privileged to have been invited.
