HORSE RIDING NEWS - Three riders from the Eden district represented the Western Cape in the South African National Equestrian Schools Association (Sanesa) Nationals at the Kyalami Equestrian Park Club in Gauteng from 30 September to 6 October.
Mishke Gerber (9) of George South Primary School won a gold medal for 80cm A2 show jumping in the primary schools horse class, and a silver medal in 80cm primary schools show jumping competition class.
Rosslyn Squair (12) of Blanco Primary School won gold in the primary schools 1m show jumping A2 pony class, gold in the primary schools EV85 eventing and was ranked the highest of the Western Cape Primary Schools riders, with a tied fourth place in SA.
Pippa Squair (15) of Outeniqua High School won gold for 1m high school show jumping in the A2 class and silver in the 1m high school show jumping competition class.
She also won silver for the high school EV95 eventing. She is also the highest ranked Western Cape high school rider at tied fifth place in SA.
