HEIDELBERG NEWS - Ancha Adams from the Heidelberg Karate Academy dojo won gold in kumite in her division, Juniors (16 to 17 years) female u. 59kg at the Karate South Africa (KSA) Bloemfontein League championships.

Adams represented the Western Cape province at this prestigious event, which took place at the Tempe Sports Hall Military Base from Friday 22 to Saturday 23 April.

Elite karate athletes from all over the country descended on a very cold and wet Bloemfontein for this championship, hosted by the national karate body, Karate South Africa (KSA).

KSA had a training camp to select a team for upcoming international events. Adams was selected as part of the Protea karate team to represent South Africa at the Region 5 Africa Union Sport Council (AUSC) Karate Championships.

This event will take place towards the end of May with South Africa as the hosting country.
