SPORT NEWS - Her Serene Highness, Princess Charlene of Monaco, recently held a three-week Covid-19 awareness campaign, organised by her foundation, PCMF.
She invited 70 South African "celebrity ambassadors" to raise funds for 45 charities in South Africa.
Mossel Bay's Louis Oosthuizen, the world-acclaimed golfer, and his Foundation57 formed part of the campaign and raised money for his local charities: iPapa57 Feeding Programme for 480 children aged three to five; Leolan Academy special needs school (autism, Down syndrome); Kids With Cancer; and the Academy57 Golf Development Programme based at Pinnacle Point.
Oosthuizen's Foundation57 was the runner-up in the celebrity campaign challenge.
As part of the fundraising campaign, people worldwide were challenged to donate to their celebrity charity of choice.
John "Ian" Gallacher of Pinnacle Point Estate supported Oosthuizen's campaign and won the lucky draw prize: an all-expenses paid trip to the May 2021 Formula One Grand Prix in Monaco.
Louis Oosthuizen's Academy57 Golf Development Programme is based at Pinnacle Point.
