FOOTBALL NEWS - Thembalethu's Vista Football Club failed to qualify for the Safa Eden Regional League after falling short in points in the play-offs between local football associations (LFAs) last weekend in Knysna.
The Geolfa champs played five games, drew one and lost four, earning one point.
The top two teams, Sea Birds from Mossel Bay and Smuts United from Sedgefield, were automatically promoted to the Safa Eden Regional Men's League for the upcoming 2022/2023 season.
Sea Birds won four games and drew one, putting them at the top of the log table with 13 points. Smuts United, the Knysna LFA champs, placed second after winning three games during the play-offs.
The following six teams were the LFA winners: Sea Birds (Mossel Bay), Smuts United (Sedgefield), Junior Golden Stars (Plettenberg Bay), Spring Roses (Oudtshoorn), FC Kwano (Hessequa) and Vista (George).
