SOUTHERN CAPE CRICKET NEWS - The SWD women's cricket team recorded overwhelming victories during the past weekend's matches in the Cricket South Africa Provincial Women's Competition against their visitors from Kei.
In the 50-over one day match on Saturday, the home side posted 356 (all out) thanks to a century from Miceala Andrews (128; 94 balls, 19x4) and Haroline Rhodes (85; 53 balls, 13x4) and thereafter dismissed Kei for 24 for a comprehensive 332-runs victory. Janet Winster (4/6) and Haroline Rhodes (4/7) each bagged 4 wickets for SWD.
Sunday was also a one-sided affair as SWD - after recording a record total of 159/3 in their allotted 20 overs - dismissed Kei for only 13 for a 146-runs victory. Bianca Figeland (74*) was the batting hero whilst Annerie Derksen (3/2) and Janet Winster (3/0) were impressive with the ball.
SWD's next round of matches will take place on 26 and 27 January 2019 when they will take on Free State in Oudtshoorn.
