CRICKET NEWS - Shael Laminie was appointed the new senior financial accountant at South Western Districts Cricket. Laminie took office on 17 January.
Laminie, who hails from Parkdene in George, was involved in the governance structures of South Western Districts Cricket since 2010 where he first serve as the Treasurer of the South Western Districts Cricket Board and later - with the transition of South Western Districts as a non-profit company - as a non-independent director.
He became the vice-president of the Board in July 2017. He also served on the Financial Committee of Western Cape Cricket (Pty) – the holding company of the Cape Cobras.
He completed the South African Institute of Charted Accountant Articles in 2011. In his professional accounting career, he was employed by PKF Incorporated Charted Accountants and Registered Auditors, Johan Soekoe Accountants in George, and as an accountant at Kunste Onbeperk (Klein Karoo National Arts Festival).
