GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - Enter the DA’s ‘What I love about SA’ poetry contest and share with the country, in a poem, what you adore most about South Africa.
You can compete in two age groups – 6 to 13 years and 14 to 18 years. Great prizes are up for grabs for both categories.
The aim of this competition is to remind South Africans about the beautiful things the country still has.
This is the prime reason the DA is honouring our distinctive nation this Heritage Day in a novel way. The DA wants to emphasise the individual differences the country entails.
The entry period will end on 11 September at midnight and the poems can be written in any of the 11 official South African languages.
First-place winners will receive R2 000, second-place winners R1 000 and third-place winners R500. Additionally, all the winners’ poems will be shared on the DA’s website and on social media platforms.
The winning poems will be announced on Heritage Day. There is no defined length or how the poem should be to allow poets to be creative as possible.
To participate in the competition, you must have your parent’s consent if you are under the age of 18.
