NATIONAL NEWS - Police watchdog Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) has confirmed it's investigating what appears to be a revenge attack by the police on a group of Nigerian nationals who had attacked officers during a raid on a suspected drug den.
Several videos went viral last week showing a large group of Nigerian nationals, at least one of them armed, cornering and assaulting several overwhelmed police officers at a house in Vanderbijlpark.
The group had accused the police of killing one of their members, while the South African Police Service said the man’s lifeless body was found in the house when they arrived.
