A Shosholoza Meyl passenger train, en-route to Johannesburg from East London, has collided head-on with a goods train near Hanover outside King William’s Town.

NATIONAL NEWS - A Shosholoza Meyl passenger train, en-route to Johannesburg from East London, has collided head-on with a goods train near Hanover outside King William’s Town.

According to Eastern Cape Department of Health spokesman Sizwe Kupelo, one person is confirmed dead while six people are in a serious but stable condition.

Emergency services personnel are currently at the scene‚ trying to free an unknown number of people who are still trapped.
