Hawks spokesperson, Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi, says 43-year-old Elisha Matsipa, allegedly assisted a Pakistani national, Wahdat Hussain, to fraudulently obtain a South African passport, ID and marriage certificate.
He says initial investigations have revealed that Matsipa had received an amount of 23 thousand rand in return.
Mulaudzi says Hussain, who was arrested a fortnight ago, joined Matsipa in court today.
They will both be back in court on Monday for a formal bail application.
Acting Head of the Hawks Major General Mthandazo Ntlemeza hailed the Anti-Corruption Unit members for a sterling investigation that led to the two suspects.
