KNYSNA NEWS - Yesterday morning, Thursday 2 May, the NSRI Knysna duty crew rushed to the Knysna Lagoon after receiving an eyewitness report from a foreign couple on holiday about a body in the water near Belvedere in the lagoon.
NSRI Knysna rescue swimmers and the SA Police Services (SAPS) responded to the scene at about 07:45 while NSRI Knysna boat crew launched the rescue craft, JayTee IV, accompanied by SAPS Water Policing and Diving Services.
Jerome Simonis, station commander at NSRI Knysna, says the Western Cape Government Health EMS was also alerted.

On arrival the body of a coloured female wearing a maroon top and dark long pants, presumed to be in her 40s who may have been fishing, was recovered from the water onto the NSRI rescue craft by a police diver, assisted by the NSRI Knysna crew.
