GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - The South African Weather Service has released its latest weather forecast for Friday, 29 August.
There are extreme high fire danger warnings for parts of the North West, Northern Cape, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and Limpopo, while showers are expected in most provinces. Otherwise, it will be a warm to hot Friday ahead.

Regional forecast:
Western Cape
Fog along the coast at first, otherwise partly cloudy and cool but warm over the eastern interior.
The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh westerly to north-westerly, becoming south-westerly along the west coast in the afternoon.

Western half of the Eastern Cape
Cloudy and cool with morning fog and chances of rain in the south, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, except in the extreme west. The wind along the coast will be light and variable, becoming light to moderate south-westerly from late morning.
Eastern half of the Eastern Cape
Windy in the north, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, except in the north-east and along the Wild Coast and adjacent interior. The wind along the coast will be light and variable early morning, otherwise moderate north-easterly, becoming south-westerly in the south in the afternoon.
