Die woonbuurte van Melkhoutkruin en Fynbos val nou in by die agt bestaande buurtwagte.
Volgens Piet Muller, hoofkoördineerder van Stilbaai se buurtwagstelsel is inwoners entoesiasties oor die stelsel.
"Die mikpunt is om as eenheid as 'n waghond organisasie op te tree om toe te sien dat eiendom en inwoners, in samewerking met die plaaslike polisie beskerm word, asook om 'n misdaadvrye omgewing te skep".
Die gemeenskap word aangemoedig om 'n noue samewerking met plaaslike polisie en ander plaaslike wetstoepassing strukture te vorm.
Tans word daar gehoop om buurtwagte te stig in Little England, die Skoolwyk, asook Platbos en word vrywilligers genooi om Muller te kontak vir meer inligting by 072 435 7689 of 028 754 1833.
