STILBAAI NEWS - Locals Lee and Marla Gough are devasted after their 12-year-old male Beagle, Eddy, went missing near the river mouth on Sunday at 07:30.
The couple is at their wit's end and has been desperately searching for Eddy since he went missing.
Lee says Eddy was last seen east of the river mouth at Stilbaai.
"It was near the toilets near the caravan park east of the Goukou River mouth. I was walking Eddy on the beach. As it was quiet I let him off the leash and he walked into the shrub and did not come back out as he usually does.
"Myself, my wife and friends searched the entire area for most of the day and just could not find him. We had people help with a drone to search and we used heat detection later that night but to no avail."
Lee says they go to that beach regularly so Eddy is familiar with the surroundings. "Eddy would do a circle and then return to the parking where he usually does a walk around and then he gets into the car.
Sometimes he would swim but not that day. He would not go in the water without me being there."
The couple have been to the site regularly but there's still no sign of Eddy. They have offered a reward for his return.
