HESSEQUA NEWS - Africa Day is the annual commemoration of the foundation and Organisation of Africa Unity.
It has been celebrated since 1965 on Friday 25 May.
Various countries on the African continent, as well as around the world celebrates this special day.
It was even celebrated in Riversdale where locals came together to show gratitude at a function.
Africans celebrate the day by cooking traditional food and wearing their best traditional attire.
