HESSEQUA NEWS - The media launch for the 10th Annual Carpe Diem School Gourmets and Gourmands was held on Friday 15 June at the Absolute Dance Studio.
Guests got a sneak peek of what to expect at this year's event. Learners got the chance of performing their version of classic Indian dancing, "Volkspele", performed by Eendracht Laer from George and delicious Indian cuisine by the François Ferreira Academy. This year's function will take place on 25 August and with a theme of Boerekos and Bollywood guests can be assured that everything bold and bling will be the rule.
Addressing guests at the media launch François Ferreira, a staunch patron of Carpe Diem School, announced that hosting this event for the 10th year running is a great achievement for everybody involved. Loyal sponsors of the Gourmets and Gourmands ensure that a professional event can be put forward each year.
Sponsors thanked the headmaster of Carpe Diem School, Karools Hauptfleisch, for the privilege to be involved in the event.
Each year several restaurants serve sumptuous food that compliments the theme of the event, and this year the Garden Route community can expect big and spicy flavours. Garden Route Game Lodge is one of the restaurants that will entice guests with superb dishes.
Gourmands is a SACA Approved Function and the standard of cuisine will be of high quality.
Guests at this year's event can look forward to the deep soothing voice of singer Mathys Roets.
Funds raised this year will be allocated to acquire much-needed resources for the school's special needs learners. The school helps children from all over the Southern Cape and is an integral part of the Garden Route and Karoo communities.
